Hakone Ekiden(箱根駅伝) is undoubtedly the most popular relay-race in Japan. Every year on the 2nd and the 3rd January, all the Japanese ekiden fans are glued to the TV to watch the race of elite runners from 20 Japanese universities. The race held this year was the 95th of this honored tradition.

As you may know, winter in Tokyo is harshly cold and dry. Despite this daunting weather the millions of the fans stand along the route for 2days to cheer the runners-up. We(Japan Athletes)went to Otemachi(大手町), where is the goal point of Day 2, to witness the result of this most loved Ekiden race in Japan. Please enjoy some of the pictures we took on the day.
